Invitation
Innovation and climate
change: a challenge for
energy engineering and economy
The Congress Energy and the Environment 2008 will be
organised as a three-day conference, starting on Wednesday, October
22, and ending on Friday, October 24, 2008. The theme of this year’s
Congress, the 21st in the series, is Innovation and Climate.
This theme corresponds with the high priority given to climate change,
both world-wide and within the European Union. The Croatian Parliament
ratified the Kyoto Protocol on April 27, 2007. Climate change is becoming
a major challenge and driving force for economic innovation, both in
the EU and in Croatia. The congress structure is based on plenary lectures,
technical and poster sessions, as well as round table meetings and workshops
on energy and environmental protection. The official languages of the
Congress will be English and Croatian. In addition to the technical
program, there will also be optional, technical and sightseeing tours
for participants and accompanying persons. An exhibition covering the
topics of the sessions will be organised during the Congress. An exhibition
area will be organised for commercial and institutional exhibitors at
the Congress site.
