Goals of the Conference

To give an overview of scientific research, their results and applications in the field of marine technology, and their importance for the economy and to stimulate the development of this activity in Croatia.

Inform the general, scientific and expert public about the importance of the economic activity of marine technology.

Provide information on the marine industry's business activities that need to be taken into account at a time when the main directions of our technological development are determined.

Encourage the establishment of a high degree of coordination and cooperation in economic activities related to the sea and marine technology, in particular from the aspect of necessary export expansion.

Give elements to participate in international technology transfer based on their own technological knowledge.

About the Conference, time & venue

Conference is held as a two-day event in person, which begins on November 16, 2023 at the Faculty of Engineering, University of Rijeka, Croatia.

The work of the Conference will take place through authors personal presentations in English for a maximum duration of 15 minutes plus 5 minutes reserved for questions and discussion. Upon acceptance of the abstracts, together with the conference final program abstracts will be published on the Conference web site http://www.riteh.uniri.hr/winkler as well as a Book of abstracts, both in paper and electronic format.

All submitted papers will be double-peer reviewed in accordance with standard scientific practice and criteria. The authors will be informed as soon as the process has been completed. Upon the completion of the reviewed process all papers will be published both in book and electronic format in a special issue of the Pomorski zbornik - Journal of Maritime & Transportation Sciences, ISSN 0554-6397 Print, ISSN 1848-9052 Online, which is indexed in the following databases: ASFA (CSA) Aquatic Sciences and Fisheries Abstracts, TRID– the TRIS and ITRD database, EBSCO Academic Search Complete, PROQUEST - Natural Science Collection, SciTech Collection, Technology Collection, Ulrich’s Intl Periodicals Directory, News of New Electronic Journals, ZDB - Zeitschriftendatenbank, PROQUEST-ZDB–Zeitschriftendatenbank, Worldcat Libraries, HRČAK. By the discretion of the editorial board and in collaboration with authors some of the papers (original scientific, preliminary communication or review paper) will be published in journal Pomorstvo - Scientific Journal of Maritime Research, ISSN 1332-0718, e-ISSN 1846-8438 which is indexed in the Web of Science Emerging Science Citation Index, Scopus. Papers are to be write in standard Croatian and / or English language, and summaries are mandatory in both languages. The full papers that will be published in the Conference Proceedings or in the Scientific Journal of Maritime Research are to be write in English.

Application process

Interested participants can apply for participation by completing the Application/Registration Form which can be found on the conference web site under Registration menu. The application form should be fullfilled by all participants, authors and co-authors.

Abstracts and papers/posters are submitted through conference web site under Submission menu. The abstract template can be downloaded from the conference web site, as well as paper and poster templates.

Participants/Authors: 250 € (pdv included)

PhD students: 80 € (pdv included)

Students and retired persons: Free

Key dates

The completed application form and abstracts should be submitted not later than September 4, 2023.

Abstracts acceptance notice, together with a template for writing full papers (up to 5000 words / 16 pages) will be sent to authors by September 11, 2023.

Deadline for submitting full papers is September 25, 2023.

Notice of full paper review, and acceptance will be sent to the authors by Octobre 20, 2023.

The final deadline for submission of revised/final papers is Octobre 30, 2023.
